Vlad Leontiev, a student of the Vyatka State University, speaks under this pseudonym

On June 22 - 24, the gallery "On Kashirka" in Moscow hosted the first solo exhibition "Am I in Moscow?"  contemporary Kirov artist Leonid Lepin.  This exhibition is a confidential dialogue between the viewer, a young artist and a curator, which unfolds in the format of a diary and tells about how the life of a creative person goes, what questions he is interested in, how his view of his work and the world around him is formed.

Leonid Lepin is the pseudonym of Vlad Leontiev, a young artist from the village of Sozimsky, Kirov region, who studies at the Faculty of Construction and Architecture of Vyatka State University and paints without a professional education.  The artist's style can be attributed to primitivism and naive painting.  Vlad creates outside the institutional environment, using the Internet as the main platform for the representation of works, which are arranged in chronological order, preserving the logic of diary entries, where titles often consist of emoji emoticons.  This characteristic feature of the language of Internet users, through which the artist achieves instant understanding with the numerous anonymous audience of his profile on the social network, is preserved in the label.

The works of the young artist are in private collections in Kirov, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Malta.
