A unique opportunity to master a promising profession was announced onOpen Day at the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology.
Last Saturday Vyatka State University held a large-scale Open Day.
Guests of the event were invited to several venues - applicants and their parents were provided with comprehensive information about VyatSU, which is one of Russian centers of innovation, technology and social development.
A significant contribution to this high status of the university is made by the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology, which trains highly qualified specialists for the biotechnological cluster dynamically developing in Kirov region.
This was pointed out by Ekaterina Martinson, Director of the Institute, when she addressed the participants in the event:
- Our rapidly changing time is demanding to foresee specialties being necessary tomorrow - this, of course, should influence the choice of university study program: after all, every current applicant wants to have an interesting and promising future. "Atlas of new professions" developed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Moscow School of Management Skolkovo names "Biotechnology" the first in top list of future professions. This is understandable: this is a key industry all over the world. At the same time, it is our region that has become the center of a large number of pharmaceutical and food biotechnology enterprises. Here at the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology we are training specialists for this industry.
This was confirmed by the guests of Open Day - representatives of one of the largest Russian biopharmaceutical companies NANOLEK Svetlana Shabalova, Ilya Golubev and Maria Nabatova. Each of them has its own track of successful career up, but the basic was their education received at Vyatka State University by study program "Biotechnology".
A demanded specialty, guaranteed employment in a developing company, prestigious work, real opportunities for professional growth, involvement in the most important strategic task of the region - all these facts determined the way of life of those who once decided to try themselves in biotechnology. For these people the future has already come in the present; and it is interesting, exciting, and promising.
A strong impression of the meeting with professionals was strengthened by an excursion across the Institute laboratories, where Center for Excellence "Pharmaceutical Biotechnology" has been successfully developing for several years already.
The guests were convinced: here training is conducted using the latest equipment, corresponding to high world standards. Thus, everything here is habitual for the educational process of VyatSU biotechnologists.
The future applicants had interesting conversations with students-biotechnologists who answered numerous questions about admission, study subjects, industrial practice, and leisure activities. Time has passed by completely unnoticed, and many visitors of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology have made their choice of further studies place.
