On February 11, 2022, within the framework of the educational project "Lectures at the Polytechnic" Vyatka State University, Denis Pezhemsky (Moscow) - a Russian anthropologist and archaeologist, Ph.D. in biological sciences, an expert on the study of the remains of the imperial family in Yekaterinburg - will present a lecture “Russian necropolises of the 18th - 20th centuries. in the system of cultural code"
The lecture will be of interest to everyone who studies Russian history, anthropology, who is engaged in archeology and forensic science. It is dedicated to such material carriers of the Russian cultural code, which are tombstones of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. It is supposed to consider the existing approaches to the study of late Russian tombstones, including archaeological ones, to analyze the information capacity of this type of historical sources, to touch upon the issues of their preservation. The lecture is supposed to reveal the research, educational and educational potential of tombstones of the era of the Russian Empire. The scientist will reveal a topic that correlates with one of the key projects of the VyatSU Priority 2030 academic leadership program - the topic of the national cultural code.

Graduated from Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov in 1998, where he studied at the Department of Archeology of the Faculty of History and the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Biology.
Since 1994, he has been on probation at the Department of Physical Anthropology of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology. N.N. Miklukho-Maclay of the Russian Academy of Sciences (led by G.V. Rykushina, M.M. Gerasimova, G.V. Lebedinskaya).
In 1998–2002 studied at the graduate school of this institute, specialty 03.00.14 "anthropology", supervisor - M.M. Gerasimova.
In 2011 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic: "Variability of the longitudinal dimensions of human tubular bones and the possibility of reconstructing the physique."
Author of more than 90 scientific papers, including two monographs.
Member of the European Anthropological Association (since 2002), member of the Moscow Society of Naturalists (since 2005), director of the Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center HERITAGE (since 2008), member of the Russian Geographical Society (since 2011).
