November, 23. An intra-university stage of Intellectual Olympiad of the Volga Federal District among students took place at the University’s Enginerium.
Intellectual Olympiad is a new social project that was created by members of the Youth Forum of the Volga Federal District (iVolga-2015) at the meeting, chaired by Mikhail Babich, Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RF President to the Volga Federal District. The purpose of these Olympiad is encouraging youth to participate in intellectual, scientific and educational competitions.
The first stage of the Olympiad was held in the form of a game “What? Where? When?”. 9 teams of Bachelor and Master students of the Basic University took part in it.
This game was played in a habitual format, but the questions had been prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. It should be noted that the questions were really hard to answer.
The best result was shown by the team of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology named “Darwin’s Children”.
The winner of the first stage goes further to the Regional stage of the Intellectual Olympiad, and there will fight for the right to represent Kirov region in the Final District Stage, which is to be held on March 19-20, 2017 in Saransk (Republic of Mordovia).
