In the botanical garden of Vyatka State University, as elsewhere, there is still an impressive snow cover; however, everything around testifies: spring is coming! Buds appeared on trees and shrubs bathed in the bright spring sun - harbingers of future luxurious decoration.
A little more - and the garden will finally wake up after hibernation, ready to meet with the residents of Kirov and guests of the city. They are in for a lot of surprises: after all, preparations for the new season began immediately after the end of the previous one.
"In autumn, we planted a huge number of different varieties of tulips, including brand new ones. They are all over the garden, but, first of all, they are presented at the entrance group. Primroses will also be dedicated to excursions that start in early May. We will present to the visitors the updated "Apothecary's Garden", which has acquired a more interesting form. It will be possible to see new plants, including rare ones" - Candidate of Biological Sciences Irina Konovalova, an employee of the REC "Botanical Garden" of Vyatka State University, told.
The greenhouse strikes again and again with the magnificence and brightness of colors. As in winter, cyclamens and royal strelitzia, resembling a bird, delight the eye here. Bilbergia, ehmeya, oxalis bloomed. And, of course, it is impossible not to admire the sophistication of Japanese camellia and rhododendrons!
