Elena Branson, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in the USA, visited Vyatka State University students
Meetings with the Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a member of the 'United Russia' faction Maria Butina have become traditional in the largest university in the Kirov region. On February 4, the deputy once again visited the university "Boiling Point", where students of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Vyatka State University gathered, most of whom study international relations.
Maria Valerievna reminded the audience that she is always open for communication, actively maintains social networks, and visits different parts of the region. At VyatSU, Butina introduced Elena Branson, who has lived in far-abroad countries for more than 30 years, mainly in the United States.
Elena Vyacheslavovna spoke about herself, her life and career after leaving Russia; but most importantly - about the coordinating councils of organizations of Russian compatriots that exist in more than 100 countries of the world. Since 2018, Elena herself has been the head of the CSORS in the United States, a country where, according to the speaker, today there are from 5 to 10 million Russian-speakers.
Many of them managed to get a good job across the ocean - nevertheless, Branson assured, recently there has been more and more talk about repatriation in the Russian-speaking environment. And not just talk: according to Branson, 10-11 percent of compatriots returning to Russia leave far-abroad countries. Elena leads several public groups in social networks, helping compatriots who have not been able to find happiness abroad to return to their homeland.

Russian compatriots who dream of returning to their homeland need to interact not only with Moscow, but with all regions. Elena Branson noted that Kirov made a favorable impression on her. In her opinion, the Kirov region has every reason to become a place of residence for compatriots leaving foreign countries.
At the end of Elena Branson's speech, an exchange of views took place. The students asked many questions about the stereotypes of perception of Russians abroad, their employment prospects, the possibilities of learning the Russian language, and the attitude of ordinary Americans towards compatriots. A number of questions related to the support and assistance provided to repatriates.
