Together with partners, teachers of the largest university in the region held an unusual marathon at the “Boiling Point”

In the regional pedagogical “bustle” the temperature is still high. On December 16, the university's “Boiling Point” became the venue for the pedagogical marathon “For five!”, a new project of the professional community of the region. The instigators were the Pedagogical Institute of VyatSU, the Institute for the Development of Education of the Kirov region - they were joined by the regional associations of young teachers and the organization of participants in the “Teacher of the Year” competition.

My dream has come true: the circle of our partners has expanded - we have made friends with the Kirov regional public organization of participants in the competition “Teacher of the Year”, whose representatives are the best not only at the regional level, but throughout the country, - emphasized, welcoming the audience, the director of the Pedagogical Institute of VyatSU Galina Simonova. She noted the exceptional importance of interaction in the pedagogical community of different generations: award-winning experienced masters, young teachers and those who are taking their first steps in the profession today - students of the training direction “Pedagogical Education” of different faculties of Vyatka State University.

The main feature of the marathon was the lack of a competitive mindset. The event was educational and developmental in nature, realizing the aim of informal acquaintance with the best pedagogical practices, effective teaching methods; search for their own pedagogical solutions.

The best teachers - winners and laureates of the regional and all-Russian competitions “Teacher of the Year” shared their reflections on their life's work, telling about the teaching profession using sometimes unexpected but apt images. Thus, Anna Korzunina, a foreign language teacher at the Kirovo-Chepetsk Lyceum, who has extensive experience in working with “hockey” classes and was herself passionate about ice battles, successfully used “sports” metaphors in her reasoning, summarizing:

A coward doesn't play hockey - a coward doesn't work at school!

The communication between the professionals and young people continued during the work of the pedagogical workshops: what could be better for transferring experience than such a “live” format? This was also noted when summing up the results of the outstanding event.

Project “For five!” fully lived up to its name - all its participants got exellent marks! This gives grounds for an optimistic forecast for solving an important state task, which was reminded by the vice-rector for strategic development and project activities of VyatSU Konstantin Bazhin:

The role of pedagogical specialties is extremely important today - a lot is said about this at the state level. Various contests are held, indicating an interest in the teacher, in future teachers - current university students.

Marathon “For five!” perfectly fit into this context, demonstrating a high level of professional competencies and insatiable desire for creative search of both well-known and novice teachers of the region.
