On August 5-6, a training event in kendo, the modern Japanese martial art of fencing with bamboo swords, was held at the main arena of Vyatka State University
The event was organized jointly with the All-Russian Kendo Federation and the Kendo Federation of the Kirov Region. Athletes from Kirov, Kazan, Yoshkar-Ola, Perm, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kuzbass took part in it.
Educational and training sessions were held by titled Russian athletes, graduates of International Budo University Marat Tairov and Islam Burnashev.
These training camps have become a preparatory stage for the Student Martial Arts Games of the Volga Federal District. Competitions will be held in Kazan in September this year.
