“Stand up for Human Rights!”: a joint project of Vyatka State University and RAMP won first place in the All-Russian competition with international participation

The project was a response to the current social demand for the legal education of young people in the spirit of international cooperation and peace, education in the field of human rights.

 The results of the All-Russian competition with international participation "Vocation: Labor and Education", dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in the country, have been summed up.  The purpose of the competition is the integration of departmental and public resources for the successful labor socialization of the individual in the context of the transformation of the labor market in modern society.  The organizers were the scientific and educational center "Tradition", the Vyatka State Agrotechnical University, the Vyatka State Medical University, the historical and cultural youth scientific society "Independent Vyatka".



In 2023, 521 works from Russia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were submitted for the competition.  Joint project “Stand up for Human Rights!  - 2022" Vyatka State University and the Russian Association of International Law took first place in the nomination "Socially significant project of legal education in the spirit of peace and international cooperation and education of young people in the field of human rights."

"December 10, 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  In anticipation of this milestone, starting with Human Rights Day 2022, the United Nations launched a year-long campaign to promote the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, focusing on the Declaration's legacy and relevance.  I hope that in 2023 Vyatka State University, together with RAMP and all interested partners, will join the UN anniversary campaign as part of the "Stand Up for Human Rightsl" project!"  -

commented the scientific supervisor of the project, associate professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Law Institute of Vyatka State University Elena Gordeeva.  She also remarked:

"In our opinion, this year the theme of the project “The Human Right to a Healthy and Sustainable Environment” could become relevant."

 For reference: the project "Stand up for human rights!"  implemented in Kirov annually, starting from 2019.  In 2022, the project "Stand Up for Human Rights!"  was prepared and implemented by Vyatka State University together with RAMP in response to the current social demand for the legal education of young people in the spirit of international cooperation and peace and education in the field of human rights.  The following tasks were solved within the framework of the project: organization of the international teleconference Kirov-Moscow (Russia) - Maputo (Republic of Mozambique) with the participation of practicing lawyers - international experts in the field of international human rights law;  organizing the development and implementation by students of the Law Institute of Vyatka State University of human rights projects for secondary school students in the city of Kirov (presentation of students "The Convention on the Rights of the Child and other documents that protect children", holding a discussion "Rights and obligations of children", holding a quiz "Rights of literary heroes  in fairy tales, etc.);  registration of a scientific publication by students of the Law Institute of Vyatka State University under the guidance of the scientific supervisor-organizer of the project, associate professor E. M. Gordeeva;  dissemination of information about the project on the legal education of schoolchildren, students and other stakeholders in the field of human rights using Internet resources.

The speakers during the international teleconference were the President of RAMP, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor, Doctor of Law, Kapustin A. Ya., as well as Legal Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mozambique Madam Farida Mamad.  During the implementation of the project “Stand Up for Human Rights!”  in 2022, the Volgo-Vyatka Institute (branch) of the Moscow State Law Academy named after O.E.  Kutafin, the Kirov regional branch of the all-Russian public-state organization "Union of Women of Russia" and the Kirov Regional Children's Library for Children and Youth named after A.S.  Green.

Based on the results of the implementation of student projects, the scientific and methodological work of Vyatka State University students "Rights of the Child", carried out as part of the RAMP-Vyatka State University project "Stand up for Human Rights - 2022", took 1st place in the XV international competition of scientific methodological and creative works "Socialization, education,  education".
