Students and teachers of Vyatka State University took part in the Youth Day of the "Russian Energy Week"
The event was held in Moscow and gathered representatives of leading energy companies and students of the country's main profile universities
On October 7, within the framework of the International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Development of Energy "Russian Energy Week" (REW), a Youth Day took place in Moscow, bringing together representatives of leading energy companies and universities of the country. Vyatka State University was represented by teachers of the Department of Heat Engineering and Hydraulics Associate Professor Pavel Iglin and PhD student Dmitry Krupin, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Alexey Bratukhin and students of the Electrical Engineering Faculty Maxim Bortnikov, Ekaterina Popova, Timur Devyatyarov, Ilya Tselischev, Valery Azizyan.
The main event of the Youth Day was a meeting "without ties" with the Minister of Energetics of Russia Alexander Novak, who answered questions from the audience. The future of world and Russian energetics, import substitution, modern technologies and innovations, personnel potential - these and other topics were discussed with a high-level guest of the representative forum.
The round table "Popularization of engineering professions, engineering and technical education and development of new technologies" was of great interest to participants, during which the directions of popularization of engineering and technical specialties were suggested, and the need for a strong relationship between enterprises and industry universities was emphasized.
Also in the course of the Youth Day, the winners of the final of the III All-Russian competition of final qualifying works of bachelors and masters were awarded. And, of course, all forum participants were impressed by the stands installed using holograms and technologies of virtual and augmented reality!
Representatives of Polytech Vyatka State University are full of impressions of the eventful Youth Day!
Maxim Bortnikov, a student of the group TiTm-2801:
- The forum was held at a very high level and fully corresponded to the status of the international one. I would like to especially note the discussion formats, within the framework of which the opportunity was given not only to listen to speeches of the speakers, but also to be included in the discussion at any moment.
Due to this I got an opportunity to make proposals on creating energy classes in monocities with the purpose of preserving the engineering potential on the ground, as well as "securing" for each profile department of the university an enterprise with state participation for operative bilateral interaction and adapting the educational program to a particular segment. My proposals were supported by the Deputy Minister of Energy, who noted the importance of the theme that was raised: after all, in the era of informatization, any program for training specialists must be adaptive, otherwise it is uncompetitive.
Ekaterina Popova, student of the group TiTm-2801:
- Particularly productive was a round table with the participation of representatives of major Moscow energetic companies, whose theme was the decline in the authority of workers and engineering specialties.
Half a century ago, the prestige of the working professions was enormous, but since the 90s it began to fall, reaching a critical level. Therefore, today in Russia there is an acute shortage of highly skilled workers and engineers.
The result of the round table discussion was the conclusion about the need to return to vocational guidance schools: the search for highly qualified personnel by interested enterprises should begin with a school bench!
The head of the delegation of the Support University at the forum Pavel Iglin noted the high activity and personal contribution of each participant in the work of the Youth Day of the SES. VyatSU was represented brightly and dignifiedly!
