The problem of reducing the risk of earthquakes for buildings and structures continues to be relevant.

Vyatka State University scientist Yuri Yurkin has just returned from Spain, where the second test session of a new damper (seismic shock absorber) created by an international team took place.

Material developed by Yuri Yurkin, head of the Department of Building Structures and Machines, Vyatka State University, combines such mutually exclusive properties as rigidity, elasticity, high tangent of the angle of mechanical losses.

Similar developments are carried out by Japanese scientists who are actively involved in this topic.

The main advantage of the material created by scientists from Kirov is the ability to self-expand - this makes the development of a unique, unparalleled in the world.

Professor Amadeo Benavent-Kliment praised the contribution of the Russian scientist:

- The material developed at the Vyatka State University perfectly corresponds to the initial request. During the test, Yuri Yurkin acquainted us in detail with the process of installing shock absorbers in the structure and the ability to test the effectiveness of a new viscoelastic material. In cooperation with the Kirov scientist we achieved the required result!

June 29 test was successfully completed: the structure withstood the earthquake✌
