April 28-29, the All-Russian research-to-practice conference with international participation "Ecology of the native land: problems and solutions" was held for the 14th time in the Vyatka State University. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Kirov region and to the 30th anniversary of the tragic Chernobyl disaster.
The Institute of Chemistry and Ecology is famous for its tradition of holding annual scientific forums. The Regional Youth Conference "Ecology of the native land" has grown over the years into the All-Russian conference with international participation.
This year foreign authors from Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic have submitted their scientific data. “I am pleased to note that guests from Moscow, Syktyvkar, Puschino, Tula, Rostov-on-the-Don, Samara and other Russian cities participate annually in our conference” said in his greeting speech Sergei Litvinets, acting vice-rector in charge of science and innovations of VyatSU.
The conference united representatives of science, government executive bodies, business community and the public in dealing with ecological problems of the region and the whole country.
Doctors of science from the Moscow State University, Institute of Biology of the Komi Republic Academy of Sciences, North-Eastern Agricultural Scientific Research Institute named after N.V.Rudnitsky, as well as representatives of the scientific school of the Vyatka State University made speeches at the plenary meeting.
The topics of reports at the sections were diverse: from ecology of microorganisms, soils, plants and animals to methodology of bio-indication and bio-testing, physicochemical and biochemical methods in ecological research.
Along with sectional and plenary meetings the program of the scientific forum included open practical training sessions on ecologyof microorganisms and entomological bio-indication. The guests of the conference also participated in the photo exhibition “Clear View” made by Alexander Shirokikh, Doctor of Biology, Professor of the VyatSU.
