On April 11, within the framework of the Moscow International Education Fair, a panel discussion “The Third Mission” of the university: the mechanisms of social project activities of young people for the development of territories and local communities” was held.
The moderator of the site was the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Marina Borovskaya, and the discussion was attended by representatives of educational authorities, heads and students of universities, parents of applicants.
Valentin Pugach, the rector of VyatSU, presented successful practices of the Flagship University of the Kirov region. “Project School”, “VyatSU-Challenge”, “Regional Headquarters for Positive Changes” - all this vividly and convincingly demonstrated the capabilities of a modern university in the organization of an effective system of social project activities of young people focused on solving applied problems of the regional development.
This is the implementation of the “third mission” of the university, which today means the active involvement in the life of the region and local society, aimed at ensuring the knowledge, technology and intellectual resources of the university were applied in the form of technological and social innovations, cultural and social projects, having a direct impact on the development of human capital, territory and improvement of the quality of life of the population.
