18 universities of the Volga Federal District (VFD) entered the TOP-100 of the National Ranking of Russian Universities, compiled by Interfax experts.
In general, the results in the ranking are stable: the first place is occupied by Lomonosov Moscow State University, the second by MEPhI, and the third by Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. As for the universities of the Volga Federal District, the leaders are Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan National Research Technological University. On the 93rd place is Vyatka State University.
The VOLGA.brief Telegram channel notes that the universities of the Saratov region showed the most tangible breakthrough, for example, Saratov State University rose by 6 positions, and Saratov State Technical University - by a record 34 places.
“But the Orenburg, Ulyanovsk regions, as well as Mari El, Chuvashia and Udmurtia do not have a single university in the Top 100. Is it any wonder the negative migration dynamics in these subjects of the Volga Federal District: young people leave them to study in more developed regions” - writes VOLGA.brief.
