From 5th to 8th October in Kazan, Vyatka State University students participated in the II International Construction Championship. One of the participants from the university was Alina Zhdanukhina, a 2nd year student of the master's program in the direction of "Power Supply". She won first place in the individual nomination "Design of the electrical part and automation systems"

Alina Zhdanukhina participated in the individual nomination "Design of the electrical part and automation systems" in the student league. Her task was to develop a power supply system for the workshop of a machine-building plant up to 1000 volts. And although the master student has been studying her profession for 6 years, she still doubted her success:

"It was my first time at an event of this magnitude. Previously, I participated in university championships, interuniversity, all-Russian, and now international."

The mission of the International Construction Championship is to help develop international cooperation between Russian and foreign organizations in the field of industrial construction and ensure the competitiveness of the participating countries. This year, according to information on the website, the event was attended by representatives of government and business, experts and specialists in the field of industrial construction from 24 countries.

The construction championship occupied two pavilions of the International Exhibition Center "Kazan Expo", one of which employed designers, and the other had separate facilities for welders, builders and other working specialties. The lists of the General Partners of the event include SIBUR Holding, ASKAO, Russian Railways, Gazprom-Media Holding and other major Russian companies - the Championship was really large-scale.

The qualifying stage was held remotely in the form of a test, which everyone could try to solve. Alina Zhdanukhina participated on behalf of Vyatka State University and made it to the final along with other Vyatka State University students who were engaged in information modeling and design in a team.

"Initially, when I participated in the preliminary stage, I did not even expect to get into the final. I wanted to know what level is needed to move on. Even when I was already called to the final, there was no goal to win - it did not seem to me that I could. But when I talked to competitors and saw that they were just as confused, I thought: “So, then we are all on an equal footing!”."

Alina said that the task took 17 hours - this is 2 days of work with lunch breaks: "I was given a large stack of assignments to read and understand what was required. It turned out that I needed to design not in the program for which I was preparing, but, to be honest, I prepared myself for this outcome of the situation. I did everything in my power."

On October 8, the solemn closing of the Championship took place. Then Alina found out that she won a medal for first place, a trip and 150,000 rubles for her own projects.

Alina admitted that although she felt nervous, the Championship was interesting. First of all, because it became possible to learn about the experience of students from different countries: "It was very interesting to talk with students of the same specialty from other universities, to find out at what level their university is. Let's put it this way: we are not left behind in any way."

The Championship is organized by the Russian Ministry of Construction, Rosatom State Corporation and ANO Russia – the Land of Opportunities. In 2022, the Championship was co-organized by OOO Gazprom invest and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
