On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

An online conference was held at Vyatka State University with the ex-Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Mozambique Farida Mamad.

Farida said in her report:

Today we celebrate International Human Rights Day in the challenging environment of the spread of the COVID19 virus. Therefore, this year's Human Rights Day theme is pandemic-centered and focused on the need for more effective recovery by ensuring that human rights are central to activities in this area. Many United Nations (UN) member states, including many in the African Union, have already admitted they were not prepared for a pandemic. In many countries, the COVID-19 crisis has been exacerbated by rising poverty and inequality, structural discrimination and other human rights gaps.

Students actively asked questions. For example, about what were the most significant projects for the protection of Human rights that the speaker took part in? How is the issue of equality of rights of women and men being addressed in the Republic of Mozambique today?

The festive event was completed by the All-Russian Unified Human Rights Lesson, organized jointly with the institution of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Kirov Region, including an analysis of situational tasks for the protection of rights.

The meeting was attended by over 200 participants, including students and teachers of the Law Institute, as well as everyone interested.
