On September 16-17, the Open Esports Student Games ended in Moscow. The games are supported by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the National Research University ITMO

This year, for the first time, the games received international status: teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Serbia and South Africa took part in them. Competitions were held in the disciplines "tactical three-dimensional battle" (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) and "combat arena" (Dota 2) for the cup and the main prize - three million rubles.

The captain of the Russian Dota 2 team was Nikita Ozhiganov, a sophomore at the Vyatka State University. As captain, he supported his teammates in difficult situations, organized and managed. According to Nikita, for the first time he participated in international competitions. However, the lack of experience in the big arena did not prevent the esportsmen from taking first place.

"At first there was a selection for the All-Russian stage, which decided who would play for the Russian team. Then we went to the international stage and won. There were a lot of emotions. We wanted to play more games to enjoy."

Now Nikita is flying to Moscow for another Dota 2 tournament taking place as part of the KFC GAMES esports project. Good luck!
