VyatSU students can join the team from the Kirov region in the "Games of the Future"

The "Games of the Future" is a major international cyber discipline tournament to be held in the fall of 2023

There are many talented cybersportsmen among the students of VyatSU. Our guys managed to be spotted not only at the Russian, but also at the world level - the VyatSU team at the end of 2019 represented the Russian Federation at international student competitions in China.

Oleg Koshkin, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Systems of VyatSU, believes that cybersport in the Kirov region is even more developed than in other regions.

    First of all, this is evidenced by the presence of business in this area. In particular, media companies (UCC is one of the three media companies in the industry in the CIS and conducts international activities) and fairly large esports centers (MANA - a network of clubs, the founders of which include the founders of UCC). The university can send teams to competitions in the main disciplines: CS.GO, Dota, Hearthstone, - told by Oleg Koshkin.

"Games of the Future" is a competition at the intersection of sports, innovation, digital technologies and education. The project was first presented at the "Russia - Country of Sports" Forum.
The special thing about the Games is in the combination of digital and physical - first, athletes will fight in a cyber competition, and then in a similar offline competition - a quest or large races.

The tournament will include 21 disciplines, united in 5 universes, the list of which is still being finalized.

At the moment, the question of the venue of the Games is being decided - Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko announced the start of accepting applications from possible host cities.

The list of cities that will apply will be announced in mid-December, and a shortlist of applicants will be announced in early April 2022.

    The existing infrastructure of the cities will be used for the tournament. Collection of applications, inspection tours, communication with interested regions will take place until May next year. We will present the winner in May at the SportAccord World Summit in Yekaterinburg, - Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
