Three students of VyatSU Polytechnic Institute had got a one-month traineeship at Suomu ski resort located within the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland

During their traineeship program the students studied the work of the ski resort and snow-making system as well as ski slopes preparation. The students had a chance to work with modern equipment of well-known world brands such as TechnoAlpin and Demaclenko (snow cannons and guns), Everest (a snowcat), Doppelmayr (ski lifts’ mechanisms) and others.

The Polytechnic Institute students have passed all the stages of ski slopes’ preparation in one month - from installation of protective mesh fence to snow guns and cannons maintenance.

Compulsory studying of snowboarding and skiing pistes has become one of the most exciting and enjoyable moments of the traineeship for the students.

Ivan Advokatov, one of the students, shares his opinion about his trainee period:

- This is a valuable experience for me! In addition to studying of the ski resort infrastructure, we have worked in another country, communicated with different people from other countries, learnt Finnish culture and life style.

Now the students plan to apply their new knowledge and skills on the ski trials of our region.
