Second-year students of VyatSU Institute of Biology and Biotechnology visited Kirov branch of AVVA RUS Company. The excursion took place within the Experimental Science and Education Program launched in early April by Vyatka State University with support of a pharmaceutical company AVVA RUS. It was aimed at increasing young people’s interest in biopharmaceutical industry, and also in employment for VyatSU graduates.
This visit was the first step in creating a new generation of biopharmaceuticals for AVVA RUS Company. Olga Gordienko, Director of Kirov branch of AVVA RUS showed the students how the enterprise works, gave some valuable advice and invited them for a paid traineeship. She also told the students about the main directions of production and cooperation with Vyatka State University.
"Pharmaceutical biotechnology is one of the priority industries today. For you, as future specialists, it is very important to see with your own eyes the work of the pharmaceutical enterprise. Our company is interested in new qualified personnel - Vyatka State University graduates", Olga Gordienko, Director of AVVA RUS said.
As part of the excursion the students visited the chemical, analytical and microbiological laboratories, where they were shown the procedure of raw materials analysis. Future specialists saw work of equipment for formation and packaging of blisters, and all the stages of medicines’ production.
"This was the first excursion to the production, organized for us at the University, and I really liked it. After visiting AVVA RUS I can say that I would like to work there in the Quality Control Department. I’ve been deeply impressed by this absolute cleanness, and also pleasantly surprised by respect shown towards employees’ safety. I would also like to note that the Director of the Company gave us valuable advice on correct priorities in studying. She says that we need all our subjects to be studied in order to become good specialists", Alevtina Guryanova, a second-year student of "Pharmaceutical Biotechnology ", shared her opinion.
