On February 16, the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of the Vyatka State University was again visited by the heads of Russian pharmaceutical enterprises. These are Ozon Pharmaceuticals, one of the main players in the country's pharmaceutical market, and its successful biotechnology project Mabscale, a company specializing in the development and production of drugs (bioanalogs) based on monoclonal antibodies and other recombinant proteins.
The key event of the program was the meeting of guests with students of all areas of study of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology. Opening it, IBBT director Ekaterina Martinson recalled that a similar meeting had been held a little over a year ago - today biotechnologists and microbiologists of Vyatka State University are again pleased to welcome representatives of dynamically developing companies to their site.
"Since you have not lost your desire and you came to visit again, then we are on the right track," - Ekaterina Alexandrovna summarized.
Her words were confirmed in the speech of Natalya Titova, General Director of Mabscale LLC, who noted the high level of university training of specialists demanded by the company.
"Therefore, we are trying to make it a tradition to visit you and make small presentations for students. We are interested in such specialists", - noticed Natalya Anatolyevna.
The film about the Mabscale company and the speech of Alexander Petrov, Deputy General Director for Development, aroused great interest of the audience. The speaker spoke in detail about the company and its product portfolio, international cooperation, development prospects. Alexander Vladimirovich shared his opinion about the graduates of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology of Vyatka State University, who became employees of the company, as well as students who had internships in its divisions. Addressing the participants of the meeting, A.V. Petrov emphasized:
"You actually study at a university unique for our country, which is exclusively focused on the issues of pharmaceutical biotechnology," - and this is a huge rarity.
Alexander Petrov invited students to take an internship at the company, focusing on the benefits that it will certainly bring to young professionals:
"Perhaps the most important advantage is the ability, so to speak, to visualize everything that you write or write in your theses. This is an opportunity to superimpose your theoretical thoughts on real solutions to similar problems".
The best evidence was the feedback from students who were lucky enough to have an internship at Mabscale LLC. Fourth-year student Maria Rychkova admitted:
"I really enjoyed the practice! Now she is helping me with my dissertation. I even mentally walk along these corridors, imagine how and where everything is located, how the production process takes place."
The main part of the meeting was held in the format of "question - answer". This dialogue was moderated by Artem Bezdukhov, Director of the Human Resources Department of the Ozon Pharmaceuticals group of companies. The guys asked a lot of questions - sincere interest was felt in their reaction! A real surprise for the students was a virtual meeting with senior comrades - graduates of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology, who became employees of the Mabscale company. Ekaterina Sorokina, Kristina Vladimirova, Lyudmila Sofyina spoke to the audience online.
So, Ekaterina told about what she learned about the future employer while studying at the university. Interested, she went to Mabscale for an internship, and after that she became an employee of the company. She shared:
"Practice went great! There is a very nice team here. You can say what interests you. Everyone is trying to hear you and show you the format that interests you. I chose the department that suits me the most, I like it the most. Therefore, at the moment I am very satisfied with everything that happens to me."
The one and a half hour event at the IBBT Vyatka State University became really rich: the participants received comprehensive information, felt the "presence effect".
3rd year student Anastasia Tsvetkova left a review:
"I think that the event was useful. I really liked that not only employees of the enterprise told; but also the girls who had an internship and went to work; a girl who applied herself to get in and got a job there; guys who are still students, but had an internship in the company. It was interesting to hear different opinions. The production is very interesting. I even thought about working and doing an internship there."
It remains to be added that the meeting was held as part of the implementation of the Human Resources for Biopharmaceutics subproject of the Drugs of the Future project block of the Health Technologies strategic project, which is now being successfully implemented at Vyatka State University in accordance with the Priority 2030 program.
