On May 28 in Sterlitamak (the Republic of Bashkortostan) the All-Russian Sports Festival "Labor Reserves" among students of professional educational organizations was completed.
It gathered almost 900 participants - students of technical schools and colleges from 23 subjects of the Russian Federation.
Teams for Sports Festival were formed according to the principle of National teams. Regions selected the strongest sportsmen trained in various technical schools and colleges. Only Kirov region was represented by students from a single college – it was VyatSU College. And this is not surprising: girls and boys (totally 38 athletes) sent to Sterlitamak had become winners and prize-winners of Kirov Region Sports Festival of students of professional educational organizations in 2016 - 2017 academic year.
The program of All-Russian Sports Festival "Labor Reserves" included competitions in nine sports directions. The best result in our team was shown by Elena Pyatiguzova. She took the 1st place in swimming competitions (50 meters for freestyle). Also Daria Karavaeva was close to getting a medal, she showed the 4th result in 50 meters’ breaststroke.
In games competition Kirov’s team managed to win bronze medals taking the 3rd place in women's volleyball. They were also close to awards in men's and women's basketball (the fourth and fifth results respectively).
It should be noted that the students of Vyatka State University had to compete with members of the Russian National team in various sports, as well as with students of Olympic Reserve Colleges and players of professional teams. It is not beyond the Regulation of Sports Festival "Labor Reserves", as the main criterion for participation was age (less than 19 years) and a full-time form of training in the institution of secondary professional education.
In the final competition (tug of war) our students showed the fourth result. So Vyatka State University team (teachers K.Brylyakov, A.Shemyakin) took the general 4th place in the All-Russian Sports Festival "Labor Reserves".
Winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Sports Festival "Labor Reserves" among the students of professional educational organizations are as follows:
1 place - the Republic of Bashkortostan team;
