On February 12-16 the Championship of the Volga Federal District in boxing among girls, juniors and women took part in Berezniki, Perm Krai.
115 strongest female athletes have come there to compete for the right to be called the best boxer of the Volga district and then to present the district in the Championship of Russia.
Kirov region was presented by Vyatka State University student Polina Barmina, a Master of the 2 course of the Faculty of Economy and Finance. She has taken a bronze medal in the weight category up to 60 kg by winning an athlete from Samara region (technical knockout) and losing in the semifinals to the hostess of the ring, the Master of Sports, a member of the women's national team of Russia.
Polina Barmina is a prize winner of the championships of Kirov region, as well as inter-regional tournaments on boxing and kickboxing. She trains under the guidance of the World Champion Mohammad Nazari.
