1st year students of the Department of Geography and Teaching Methods of Geography of the Institute of Chemistry and Ecology of Vyatka State University Tarasova Alena, Ageeva Vera, Khomenko Kristina, Trofimova Ksenia created an interactive map with lakes, quarries and reservoirs near the city of Kirov as part of the subject "Project activity".
“On the eve of the celebration of the 650th anniversary of Kirov, our students are contributing to creating an attractive image of the region”,
- notes Denis Kozulin, director of the Institute of Chemistry and Ecology of Vyatka State University.
“We decided to make a project that would really be useful to people. Before us, no one before collected in a single place detailed and up-to-date information about recreation areas near water bodies. We want the people of Kirov to be filled with love for our region, to understand that there are many beautiful and interesting places in it”, - says Alena Tarasova.
Now the site contains information about six water bodies, the farthest one is located 40 km from Kirov in the Slobodsky district. The girls prescribed routes to places of rest both by private transport and regular buses. Bicycle routes are also planned.
The girls see the further development of the project in expanding the map to the entire region, so that any resident of our region can go to the site and find the nearest body of water. The students also plan to think over scenarios for recreation, for example, mark routes for hiking.
The project involves constant development and addition. On the site of the interactive map there is an opportunity to leave feedback, for example, report on the state of the road, add fresh photos.
It is not necessary to travel far to have a good rest, there are wonderful places in our Kirov region. We prove it with our project! - emphasize the creators of the interactive map.
