On May 17 a seminar "The Future of the Hydrometeorological Service" was held within the 19th International Scientific and Industrial Forum "Great Rivers (Ecological, Hydrometeorological and Energy Security)".
The event discussed issues of educational activities in the field of hydrometeorology and ecology and was organized by the Volga Federal District Department of Roshydromet and the Institute for Advanced Training of Managers and Specialists.
Before the seminar the winners of the Regional Open Contest "The Future’s in Our Hands" were awarded diplomas and gifts. More than two hundred scientific projects were presented in the competition. Vyatka State University representatives happened to be among the winners.
Tatiana Timkina and Tatyana Beltyukova, the 1st year Masters of the Department of Economics, supervised by Nadezhda Savelyeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor took the first place in the nomination "Tourism as a Development Factor for Territories" with their work "Rural tourism as one of the tools for increasing competitiveness of the territory".
Sofia Filatova, the 3rd course bachelor, supervised by Irina Lapteva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor took the third place in the nomination "Socio-economic and political aspects of regions’ development" with her work "Assessment of food security in Kirov region".
