«I am a Professional» - the all-Russian educational Olympiad of a new format for students and one of the flagship projects of the presidential platform «Russia is a country of opportunities» was held  in Russia the third time. The uniqueness of this educational forum lies in the fact that it checks, first of all, professional knowledge, and not abstract erudition.

Recently, students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the  Vyatka State University Alexei Mel'nikov, Pyotr Man'kov, Vitaliy Rylov, Ivan Bronnikov, Natalya Kuznetsova, Alexey Lekomtsev, Alexander Pomelov and Natalya Ladygina returned from the final stage of the competition. Prior to this, wards of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Installations, the Department of Power Stations, the Department of Electric Power Systems and the Department of Power Supply successfully performed at the qualifying stage, having the opportunity to prove themselves in the final of the competition in the direction of «Electric Power Engineering».

Magistrand Natalya Ladygina went to the Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev.

In the course of performance of tasks, it was impossible to use reference books and telephone - you could only take an engineering calculator with you. The tasks were complex, with a solution in several stages, involving knowledge in a wide range of disciplines, - told Natalia.

In addition to the competition, Natasha was trained at the Engineering Leadership Winter School, which brought together 130 students from 36 regions and 65 Russian universities. Visiting large industrial enterprises, participating in the round table «The role of universities and employers in developing the human resources of organizations and regions», getting to know the sights of Samara, meeting new friends - Natalya did not have a minute of free time at the Winter School!

The rest of students passed the final stage tests at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, from where one of them - the second year magistrand Alexander Pomelov - went to Moscow to participate in the work of the Winter Atomic School of Rosatom and NRNU MEPhI.

The nuclear school broadened my horizons, increased my knowledge and gave me the opportunity to see Moscow, -

Alexander shared.

The results of the final stage of the «I am a Professional» Olympiad will be known later, but for now, the participants are happy to gain new experience and the opportunity to test the knowledge gained at the Flagship University of the region.
