More than 500 students complete their training under the “Technologies for supporting persons with disabilities” program at VyatSU

Vyatka State University is completing training under the advanced training program “Technologies for supporting persons with disabilities”, implemented thanks to the victory of the university in the competitive selection of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia to train scientists, managers and specialists of employing organizations for the implementation of modern continuing education programs within the framework of a federal project “New opportunities for everyone” of the national project “Education”.

More than 500 people from more than 30 regions of the Russian Federation, including those in need of accelerated development, have attended the program on topical topics. The largest delegations of listeners were sent to study by the Kazan National Research Technological University, Gorno-Altai State University, Kazan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Scientific and Practical Center for Rehabilitation of Children “Correction and Vision”, Kirov gymnasium № 46 and Lyceum № 21. Listeners got the opportunity to get acquainted with general methodological and theoretical foundations for accompanying persons with disabilities, conceptual foundations for designing a professional trajectory and managing the individual professional trajectory of such people.

Implemented by a team of defectologists, teachers, psychologists and other specialists, an additional professional advanced training program consisted of several modules on various topics. An internship was organized in the departments of services for citizens with disabilities of the State Universal Regional Scientific Library named after A.I. Herzen.

It is important to note that the coronavirus pandemic did not interfere with the implementation of the program, which was first implemented last year and then received numerous positive reviews. In the current conditions, VyatSU offered listeners a convenient online format, which allowed them, in their usual conditions, to raise the level of professional competencies free of charge and in a short time.

- The courses logically fit into the format of the Zoom platform, the optimal time of classes is chosen, -

said Svetlana Akutina, Professor of the Arzamas branch of the Lobachevsky UNN.  Her colleague Irina Begantsova, the Head of the Department of General and Practical Psychology at Lobachevsky UNN (Arzamas branch), expressed her gratitude to the organizers:

Thank you for the option of distance learning: in a pandemic situation, it is difficult to maintain live communication, and after all, the problem of accompanying people with disabilities has not been canceled.

Director of the Resource Center for Inclusive Education NARFU named after M.V. Lomonosov Zoya Usova shared her opinion:

Special attention should be paid to the organization of an internship at the Order of Honor of Kirov State Regional Universal Scientific Library named after A.I.Herzen. The prepared video tours made it possible to get acquainted with the infrastructure of the library and its funds, and at an individual consultation, each listener was given the opportunity to ask all questions of interest about the availability of educational and information services.

The need to replicate best practices is beyond doubt - in terms of technologies for accompanying persons with disabilities at VyatSU, it is the richest. Now the unique experience will spread and receive a new development in different parts of Russia.
