On May 26 an agreement was signed on cooperation between Vyatka State University and Kirov Institute for Advanced Training of Federal Penitentiary Service officers (FSIN of Russia).
This important document was signed by VyatSU Rector Valentin Pugach, by the head of the Institute Vasily Ponkratov, and by representatives of Pedagogical and Law Institutes of Vyatka State University.
The event is unique because it opens a new direction in interaction - the development of penitentiary and post-penitentiary psychology and resocialization.
The Department of Practical Psychology of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of VyatSU Pedagogical Institute has been successfully engaged in scientific research in this field. Teachers, students, undergraduates and post-graduates of the Department conduct serious research on the basis of penitentiary institutions, develop and test diagnostic tools, and prepare scientific publications.
Teachers of the Department of Practical Psychology shared the results of their scientific research in identifying anti-corruption resistance of individuals. The University has got appropriate methods. Persons who serve their sentences in penitentiary institutions for committing crimes of corruption have become respondents for this research.
Students-psychologists show interest in this subject and carry out course papers and final qualification work on this topic. Annually students have traineeship at Federal Penitentiary Service institutions. For graduates of the University it can become the place for their further employment.
