Vyatka State University and Kurchatov Institute sign an agreement on cooperation

A key area of joint activity is the development of biotechnology.

Valentin Pugach, rector of Vyatka State University, and Denis Minkin, director of the national research center "Kurchatov Institute", signed a cooperation agreement aimed at coordinating and maximizing the use of scientific, innovative and educational potential of the parties to obtain world-class scientific results, and joint implementation of innovative development. The key direction, defined by the Agreement, is the development of biotechnologies.

Commenting on the event, the rector of Vyatka State University Valentin Pugach said:

Over the past few months we have worked out the practical aspects of the Agreement together with the scientific research center that is of interest to both sides. This concerns both training of specialists in higher education and scientific interaction. The most interesting, in my opinion, is that we agreed on specific actions in implementing promising technologies. Among the priorities there are biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, bioenergetics and bioeconomics.

It is planned that the Kurchatov Institute will also support the development of a program for the formation of a research and educational center for blockchain technologies on the basis of Vyatka State University. Another interesting project will be the creation of a biosafety sector in the Center’s Technopark.

This joint work experience with such an authoritative scientific center as the Kurchatov Institute is a significant step in positioning VyatSU as a platform for working out and implementing innovative projects.

I am confident that the joint activities of Vyatka State University and Kurchatov Institute within the implementation of the Agreement will be an important factor in the economic and social development of Kirov region.
