VyatSU Acting Rector Valentin Pugach and Secretary of Civil Chamber Dmitry Kurdyumov signed a cooperation agreement in the last meeting of the Civil Chamber Council.
The University and the Civil Chamber has long-standing close cooperation in various spheres.
- The Civil Chamber as an institution of civil society gets considerable support from VyatSU. It is a help with opinion polls, a joint organization of the annual Civil Society Forum, active participation of the University specialists in discussions of specific issues, for example, the issue of public control of road repairing, – Dmitry Kurdyumov said at the beginning of the meeting.
As Valentin Pugach explained in his response, the status of the Basic University demands arranging the maximum integration of students and teachers into the public life of the city and the region. That is why the University really needs to work closely with the Civil Chamber.
“Taking into consideration that 75% of Kirov region students are studying in VyatSU, we can say that the University became the center of the region public life. But there is another center – the Civil Chamber. You represent the largest and the most authoritative public organizations of the region. And much depends upon the way of our interaction. We have a lot of areas for cooperation, but I think they should be ten times more. We have a lot of projects, it is important for us to use our potential, - Valentin Pugach stressed the importance of the signed document.
As it was marked in the meeting the agreement is not just a formality. New joint projects have been already planned, including the organization of annual Civil Society Forum (in autumn 2016). Аcting Rector of VyatSU expressed his wish to enter the organizing committee of the Civil Forum. Students and teachers traditionally will take an active part in the forum. And the University will initiate a series of Forum sections.
