The cultural and educational project "Discovering Vyatka" initiated by autonomous non-profit organization “Promoting professional communications” has won the contest of the Presidential Grants Foundation.

On October 12 the main stage of the project started: schoolchildren from Nagorsk district came to Kirov for theirfirst of six expeditions. Visiting the regional center was a special event for kids, as they went sightseeing and took photo and video material for a competition, which will take place within the project "Discovering Vyatka", and get acquainted with the main regional university.

The day turned out to be full of events: master classes on video filming were held by the university press service representatives Maria Sadakova-Ilyina and Stanislav Ermolenko and on photography by Ksenia Perminova (graduate student of culturology). Svetlana Dozhdevykh, associate professor of the Department of Culturology and Sociology, took the children for a sightseeing tour around town.
Vyatka State University is a strategic partner and the main platform of the project. All day schoolchildren were accompanied by VyatSU volunteers and the project team "Discovering Vyatka": Marina Golenok, head of Department of Culturology and Sociology, Marina Luchinina, head of Social Work and Youth Policy Department, Julia Igoshina, acting head Department of Journalism and Integrated Communications, Ivan Shulakov, commercial director of Internet agency RutMedia".

 

In total by the end of 2017 about 200 schoolchildren from Nagorsk district are planned to visit Kirov. In March 2018 the authors of the best works of the creative contest will get some prizes and bonus points to their Unified State Exams for admission to study programs "Journalism" and "Advertising and Public Relations".
