VyatSU defeated the rivals of the “silver generation” with a score 20:13 in the traditional business game in computer all-round competition for pensioners.

The IX All-Russian Championship in Computer All-Around among Retirees with over 150 participants from 74 regions of Russia and 7 foreign countries has been finished in Kirov.

The key event of the last competition day was the business game "For all occasions", traditionally conducted using "Consultant Plus" - a PC law database.

Vyatka State University became a platform for business game in Kirov. The spacious assembly hall of academic building №14 was crowded with fans: mostly “silver generation”, who arrived from Bryansk, Ryazan, Penza regions, Sakhalin, the Republic of Adygea, and the Krasnodar Territory to support their teams.

The rivals of the retirees were VyatSU students: Alexander Glukhikh, Anna Bespyatykh, and Yulia Devetyarova from the Institute of Economics and Management; Alyona Seroeva, Elisei Tedeev, Anna Meteleva from the Pedagogical Institute. As the students admitted, they had thoroughly prepared for the competitions, having studied the issues of civil law and improving their skills of using “Consultant Plus”. But they didn’t count on great success: the retirement team has been winning the students in the popular championship every time.

Nevertheless, Konstantin Bazhin, VyatSU Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Project Activity, expressed his hope:

Despite the fact that in the entire history of the game students have never managed to beat retirees, today there is a good chance to win!

The game was really exciting! VyatSU “artists” brilliantly played familiar life scenes required legal literacy. Online shopping, a marriage contract, a donation agreement - can these seemingly understandable procedures cause any trouble? The teams had to give specific and clear answers to important everyday questions for a strictly limited time.

VyatSU students showed team spirit and perseverance and demonstrated their knowledge in theory and "Consultant Plus" operation. As a result, they managed to beat their rivals winning 20:13! VyatSU students did not disappoint their native university, city, and region!

Congratulating the student team, the head of VyatSU Department of Civil Law Yulia Folgerova summarized:

Everything happens for the first time, and the students deserve their victory.

The winners were also congratulated by their rivals, the project head Deputy Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of Russia Vladimir Klonitsky, associate professor at the Russian Economic University named after Plekhanov Yulia Romanova, Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of the region Yury Palukh. The audience also burst into applause!

Nevertheless, the main result of the competition was not a victory, but an awareness of the importance of the intergenerational continuity. The interaction between young people and so called “silver generation” was based on deep respect.

Activity, wisdom, experience and at the same time a fresh look at familiar things - this combination is useful for all occasions. It is possible only when youth and maturity go hand in hand!
