260 people wrote Geographical Dictation at VyatSU.
Participants were placed in five classrooms in compliance with all necessary measures to counter the spread of coronavirus infection.
Russian cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchko from the International Space Station greeted the participants.
In 2020, the Russian Geographical Society for the first time held the “Write a question for Geographical dictation” competition, in which everyone, regardless of age and place of residence, could take part. The top three were selected from 430 different questions. The author of one of them was a 2013 VyatSU graduate, geographer Kirill Likhachev.
All participants of the Geographical dictation, among whom was the director of the Institute of Chemistry and Ecology of VyatSU Denis Kazulin, noted the need for such events, which make one think about the knowledge of the world around, about transforming the geographical environment and how to stay in harmony with it, with oneself and others people.
The results of the dictation can be found on the website of the Russian Geographical Society from January 15, 2021.
