VyatSU students are winners of the All-Russian student forum "Career +"

Over 300 people took part in the event held in Nizhny Novgorod. On October 4-5 the II All-Russian Student Forum "Career +" was held in Nizhny Novgorod; the main purpose of the event was to create a platform for effective interaction between universities and employers.

Over 300 undergraduates and graduates from 33 universities from 25 Russian cities, as well as representatives of 26 leading companies and graduate employment centers participated there.

The forum was organized by Lobachevsky University Career Center with the support of the Council of Rectors of the Volga Federal District, the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The “Best Dozen” project was the main part of Career + Forum. It was a two-day game for students and graduates, during which they could demonstrate their abilities to employers, completing their tasks and actively participating in competitive programs.

To win the main prize - an invitation for an internship, practice or a vacant position in one of the companies - participants had to go through several stages: submit their CVs at the Labor Market, demonstrate their best qualities at Professional Selection, and present some cases solution in the final round.

Following the results of the game 12 participants became winners and received offers from employers, as well as certificates for completing skills upgrading courses at Lobachevsky University and some other presents from organizers and employers.

At the same time on October 4, a foresight session was held on “Improving work of centers for employment promotion for university graduates”. It was attended by representatives of the Center of Technical Standards and Student Councils of universities, and employers.

Based on the results of the foresight session a document with recommendations on the most effective forms of interaction between students, universities and employers was formed, and recommendations for the further employment assistance for graduates of Russian universities were outlined.

This document will be emailed to universities all over the country. “Competitiveness of Graduates of Russian Universities” round table aroused great interest among participants. It discussed the forms of working with students, the problems of attracting students' attention to successful career, as well as the peculiarities of interaction with employers.

At the closing ceremony of the Career + Forum Professor Roman Strongin, Lobachevsky University President, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Volga Federal District, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Rectors, handed in letters of appreciation to universities and employers participated in the Forum.

VyatSU was represented by students from different faculties: Vadim Kokorin (Faculty of technologies, engineering and design), Maxim Ovchinnikov (Faculty of automation and computing), Alexander Zenyakin (Faculty of automation and computing), Danil Anufriev (Faculty of technologies, engineering and design), Anna Solomennikova (Institute of Chemistry and Ecology), Anna Larionova (Faculty of Philology and Media Communications).

Three of them - Vadim Kokorin, Maxim Ovchinnikov and Alexander Zenyakin - reached the final, and after that Vadim and Maxim were among the winners of the Forum.

The All-Russian Student Forum “Career +” ended up with a celebration in honor of the “Best Dozen” winners and a performance by the youth group One Amplifier from Nizhny Novgorod.
