VyatSU to graduate 1,600 teachers in four years. Rector Valentin Pugach announced this while speaking to participants of the regional pedagogical meeting

On August 22, the regional government hosted a regional pedagogical meeting, which brought together numerous representatives of the professional community.

The governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, addressed the event participants:

     "This year the meeting is being held on the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation. I think this is very symbolic. By and large, we are now at the forefront: it depends on us what the next generation will be like. This, without exaggeration, is a factor of national security."

Alexander Valentinovich outlined the main vectors of development of the education system of the Kirov region; emphasized the importance of developing the “First Movement” and local vocational education, and assured of further strengthening measures to support teachers and schools in the region. The head of the region recalled the activities to launch the large-scale project “World-Class Campus”, its relevance in the context of solving the problem of the outflow of talented youth.

     “A low bow to you” - with these words addressed to the teachers of the region, Alexander Sokolov concluded his speech to loud applause.

VyatSU Rector Valentin Pugach spoke at the meeting. He stated that this year a new model of teacher training has been implemented at the largest university in the Kirov region.

     "Key changes took place already at the stage of entering a university. Becoming an applicant, and then a student, everyone has the opportunity to make a conscious choice of training profiles. A conscious choice of an individual educational trajectory allows you to increase the motivation of future teachers," explained Valentin Nikolayevich.

He said that for this year's admission, the largest number of state-funded places were allocated for the training direction "Pedagogical Education". Moreover, all 427 places were filled in the main intake.

The rector said that in the period from 2023 to 2026. Vyatka State University plans to graduate 1,600 young teachers.

     “For example, during this time we will graduate 54 physics teachers and 79 mathematics teachers. By 2026, it is planned to graduate 70 chemistry teachers and 115 computer science teachers,” the speaker specified.

Concluding his speech, V.N. Pugach voiced proposals for the further development of the personnel training system for educational organizations in the region and took the initiative to implement a number of projects. Among them, the holding of the "Governor's Pedagogical School", which involves the immersion of students in pedagogical classes, students of pedagogical areas of training, young teachers, teachers-mentors, in active interaction formats and the development of joint methodological products that can be introduced into the educational process of the school. In addition, the rector advocated the resumption of the project "Leaders of Education of the Kirov Region" and a comprehensive study of the staffing of educational organizations by the university and the regional Ministry of Education.
