The Department is in charge for the following Bachelor’s, Master’s and postgraduate’s study programs:
Pedagogical education, with two profiles: "The French language", "The German language";
Linguistics and Literature science, with a profile "Germanic languages";
Scientific Relations
At the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology there have been successfully defended 2 Doctoral and 16 Candidate of Science’s dissertation works.
The Department takes a leading part in Candidate's theses defensing at Moscow State University, as well as Udmurt, Ivanovo, and Perm State Universities.
The Department runs a French Cultural and Educational Center.
The Department possesses close scientific relations with Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University, as well as Ivanovo, Perm, Udmurt, Vladimir, Voronezh, Volgograd, Tver, Tomsk State Universities and other higher educational institutions.
Scientific Directions
The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology works in the basic scientific direction named "Russian humanistic values: language, culture, history".
The main scientific research directions of the Department are the following:
- Structural and semantic aspects of the Roman-Germanic languages
- Improving the means and methods of foreign languages teaching at higher educational institutions and schools
- Issues of foreign literature
- Topical issues of psycholinguistics
The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology organizes a lot of various scientific conferences at both international and all-Russian levels.
