Department history
In 1994 Vyatka State Technical University’s Department of computing and programming launched a study program "Information systems in economics"
In June 1999 the first full-time students received a degree in economics on a specialty "Information systems in economics".
Software tools developed by the Department are used at a number of Kirov’s companies. Today the Department works hard to create a variety of Internet applications and software products.
The Department’s staff consists of 10 full-time teachers, 6 of them are Candidates of Sciences and Associate Professors.
In 2011 the Department reorganized into the Department of Business Informatics and opened a new study direction named "Business Informatics" with 2 profiles "Enterprise Architecture" and "Applied Informatics".
A Master’s degree program "Applied Informatics" with the profile "Management of information resources" was launched in 2012.
