The Department of information technology in mechanical engineering was established in 2004.
To master new information technologies and successfully apply them in the field of engineering we need specialists, qualified users of systems for automated design, control of technological processes and metalworking equipment.
Students of all directions and specialties of the Faculty of technology, engineering and design are trained at the Department.
Training is conducted in classrooms and computer labs equipped with modern computers, multimedia and technological equipment.
In the educational process, The department uses licensed software. Successfully participates in the program "SWR-Academy", which provides support for the educational process with CAD / CAM / CAE / PDM software - Solid Works. Uses domestic software products "Compass", "Vertical", "T-FLEX", "Sprut".
Focusing on the requirements of regional enterprises to create special competencies, the department conducts training on the use of software Solid Edge and NX in the process of design and technological preparation of production.
Partnership with leaders of world software market allows significantly increase the level of teaching, the interest and creative activity of students.
The teaching staff of the Department cooperate with colleagues from other universities in Russia: Ural State Technical University - USTU (Ekaterinburg), Povolzhsky State Technological University (Yoshkar-Ola), Nizhny Novgorod State Technological University. R.E. Alekseeva (Nizhny Novgorod).
Also, the Department cooperates with the scientific and technical center "Automated design of machines" (NTC APM Korolev), which develop the CAD / CAE-system for the automated design of machine parts and structures APM WinMachine.
The scientific activity of the Department is connected with solution of problems of automation of design and technological preparation of production, and with the technologies of laser processing of engineering products.
Teachers of the department published more than 100 scientific and educational works, including in foreign publications.
The department regularly conducts scientific and practical seminars and exhibitions on modern areas of computer-aided design. Provides consulting services.
