This and other achievements of the largest university in the region in the field of physical culture and student sports were told by the head of the USC VyatSU Evgenia Chashchina
At Vyatka State University, the maximum is being done to ensure that the university is a territory of health, diverse physical activities, and outstanding sports achievements. The university is successfully implementing a program for the development of physical culture and student sports until 2024. Over 85 percent of students are engaged in some kind of physical activity.
This was announced by the head of the educational and sports complex of VyatSU Evgenia Chashchina:
"We carry out all types of activities that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia offers, and with a good “reserve”. Extracurricular sports and recreation activities are organized in almost all university buildings. Over the past three years, the number of sports sections has increased from 27 to 44. They cover 23 sports."
It is important to note that all opened sections are successfully functioning and developing. This means the high quality of the preparatory work, the correct calculations of the specialists of the USC Vyatka State University.
"At the beginning of each academic year, together with the Department of Physical Education, students are surveyed in order to identify their requests for physical activity. The post-COVID period is characterized by a surge of interest in physical culture and sports. After quarantine restrictions, students are actively involved in the work of sports sections. Traditionally, volleyball, basketball, football have been and remain the most popular among us. Sections for these sports are in each building, they are led by different coaches. At the same time, there was a demand for other sports. Training for some, for example, boxing and shooting from electronic weapons, has already started, and we continue to work on opening new sections, in particular archery. A separate area of our work is military-patriotic education, within which we offer parachuting. We found an experienced instructor with a valid license and all the necessary equipment. In training, the guys will be engaged mainly in pre-jump training, which is of great importance for overall physical development," - said Evgenia Vladimirovna.
E.V. Chashchina noted the increased interest of students in passing the TRP standards. This happens as part of the training sessions, and then the guys who showed the best results continue to compete as part of the university's TRP festival, which runs from April to October. Last academic year, about 2,500 students took part in the delivery of the TRP standards.
The employees of the university do not remain forgotten either. After a hard day at work, they also have the opportunity to attend classes for free both in the swimming pool and in other sports sections of Vyatka State University. In addition, well-equipped gyms of the university are open for students and staff.
"We strive to ensure that our classes give a tangible training effect and allow you to relax after study or work, switch to another type of activity, and have fun. The importance of a healthy lifestyle is shown by the example of Rector Valentin Nikolaevich Pugach. He visits the pool, sections on boxing, hand-to-hand combat, badminton," - noted Evgenia Chashchina.
Evgenia Vladimirovna recalled that it is mass sports that are the main component of the activities of the USC Vyatka State University. The tasks being solved in this segment perfectly correspond to the guidelines set by the strategic projects “Harmonious Personality” and “Health Technologies” of the Priority 2030 program.
"At the same time, the university has sports of the highest achievements. Our athletes successfully represent the university at all-Russian competitions. I'm talking, first of all, about the men's basketball team, the women's volleyball team, the women's futsal team, the athletics team," - informed E.V. Chashchina.
At the same time, adaptive sports are being developed at Vyatka State University. For students and employees with disabilities, swimming, general physical training, boccia, and sitting volleyball are held. Coaches have special training in adaptive physical culture, and the training itself precedes the monitoring of the functional state of athletes with disabilities.
Vyatka State University often becomes a venue for major sporting events. At the end of November, an international online chess tournament will be held here. And in December, the main arena of the university with 1000 seats will host guests and participants of the fitness festival, an enchanting sports festival for students and staff!
