Architectural Film Festival in VyatSU

On April 19-20 Vyatka State University hold the Architectural Film Festival. It was dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Ivan Charushin. The organizers of the festival are the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning (headed by Gennady Bezverkhov) and VyatSU Architectural Student Center (headed by Ksenia Bryzgalova).

The festival has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of Kirov Region, Vyatka Society named after architect Charushin and Regional Cinema Club.

The Architectural Film Festival was opened by Valentin Pugach, Rector of Vyatka State University. He pointed out a good University tradition of training future architects. Modern media were mentioned there too as one of the effective elements of studying.

The Festival started with a film by VyatSU TV Studio named "History of our city. The Charushin’s House". VyatSU students Ekaterina Krotova and Anastasia Babintseva presented a video story of Ivan Apollonovich Charushin’s house, its history and today state. VyatSU Rector has appreciated this work and named the film quality “one of educational indicators” of the University.

Rich architectural heritage of Ivan Charuchin is a common subject for architectural students study. Gennady Bezverkhov, honorable architect of Russia, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of VyatSU told about Ivan Charushin as of a unique person for Vyatka region. Many beautiful buildings of the regional center had been created by his projects. For example, the mansion of Bulychev, the Central Hotel, Catherine and Seraphim Churches. In total, the architect had designed more than 500 buildings.

In a two day show one could watch STRC "Vyatka" films of the cycle "Architectural history. The Charushin’s House" by a film director Rimma Lapteva and "An old town over Vyatka" by Olga Altareva (author) and Tatiana Khalezova (film director). Festival’s guests could meet the creators of these programs. Also, students and guests of the Architectural Film Festival could see the programs of "STS-9 channel" named "Mysteries of Vyatka". Its author Olga Lyapunova-Kostyleva and editing director Artem Fefilov talked about the process of films and programs making in modern conditions of television studios.

Some more films of a historical project "Vyatka chronicle" have been presented by Regional Cinema Club. An author and film director Felix Kolyshnitsyn (Vyatka State University employee) has told about the work on the project and the film "The Bulychev's Mansion".

Vyatka State University is planning to make the Architectural Film Festival a traditional annual event.
