The VyatSU basketball team became the silver medalist of the VyatSU Rector's Cup tournament

From September 29 to October 2, VyatSU hosted the III open basketball tournament for the "VyatSU Rector's Cup", dedicated to the International University Sports Day

The tournament was attended by: IGHTU team from Ivanovo, the team of VyatSU-2, VyatGATU, secondary school No. 1 in Kirov and the team of Samara State Technical University (Samara) - Champions of the Higher Division "Volga region-Ural" last season.

In the first half of the match, the Vyatka State University team confidently held the game in their hands, but after a long break, the opponent broke free to win. As a result - 69:85.

The next match was against a team from Ivanovo. After the defeat from Samara University, the team got together and showed a very spectacular game. From the first minutes of the match, the Owls took the game under their wing and did not give the opponent a chance to take the lead. As a result: a confident victory and the score on the scoreboard 78:57!

The third game day ended with a confident victory over the Vyatka State Agrotechnological University 104:49.

So our team won the overall second place. Individual awards were taken by Maxim Petrenko and Vyacheslav Dobrovolsky, they became winners in the nominations "best point guard" and "best center". The teams of prize-winners and winners were awarded memorable gifts from Vyatka State University and competition partners.

The head coach of the SamSTU team commented on the organization of the tournament:

"The organization of the tournament is simply brilliant! I liked it very much, I am very satisfied. Starting from accommodation and meals, ending with the organization of games. Everything was organized at a very high level, I would say at a professional level!"
