At the end of last week VyatSU Volunteering Center hold "School of Volunteers" for first-year students, and for those who decided to learn more about volunteering. In total over 150 people took part in the event!
The students had been learning a lot of new and useful information about volunteering throughout three hours. Anastasia Zykova, Head of the Volunteering Center, told about the organization of volunteering at the university. Such directions as assistance in holding forums, festivals, meetings, etc. have been mainly focused on.
However, volunteering at the Basic University touched upon much more other events. A Volunteering Center "Chizh&Co" on the basis of VyatSU Pedagogical Institute is the largest organization in Kirov for implementation of social activities. Ekaterina Bogdanova, Head of the Center, told the visitors about volunteers’ work with orphanages, old and disabled people.
Also, inclusive volunteering is becoming more popular today within the Abilimpix center activities.
In general volunteering in Kirov region is becoming a more powerful and dynamically developing movement; therefore, volunteers regularly hold special contests and forums. This was explained by Marina Dokina, chief specialist on work with young people of Regional Youth Palace.
The great interest of the School audience was caused by Ekaterina Mityagina, director of Regional Palace of Youth. As a result of her training "Positive Communication in Volunteering Practice" the participants learned how to communicate with people and make any positive contacts.
The participants are quite satisfied with the results of School trainings: they have learned a lot of new and useful things! But the situation is that any student of Vyatka Stay University can become a volunteer even without finishing this School! One should just join VK-Volunteering group and fill in a questionnaire there. Volunteering experience is sure to be quite useful in everyone’s life!
