The competition is a key event in volunteering and is aimed to create a culture of volunteering in Russia and to develop social, medical, event, cultural, corporate, emergency volunteering and “GPW Victory” volunteering.
Leaders and representatives of volunteers’ non-profit organizations, associations and initiative volunteering groups, as well as public organizations engaged in development of volunteering are invited to participate in the national competition "Russian Volunteer - 2016". Volunteers are to be aged from 14 to 30.
To participate in the competition one need to register and fill the application form on www.ais.fadm.gov.ru until September 25.
The Expert Commission consists of public figures, leaders of volunteer associations and public organizations, representatives of the local authorities.
According to the results of the competition the Expert Commission will identify the most successful volunteering leaders, as well as effective public projects and initiatives.
There are 6 main nominations announced in volunteer activity:
1. For contribution to patriotic education and saving memory of the Great Patriotic War (1941 – 1945):
- volunteer of GPW Victory,
- the best project in patriotic education,
- the regional headquarters of GPW Victory volunteers.
2. For involving volunteers to organizing and conducting of sports, educational, social and cultural events:
- promotion of a healthy lifestyle,
- environmental volunteering,
- sports volunteering,
- event volunteer.
3. For assistance to children, old-aged people, veterans, people with disabilities, and people affected by natural or social disasters:
- helping children,
- social service,
- helping animals,
- inclusive volunteering,
- silver volunteering.
4. For working to improve the quality of medical care on preventive, curative and rehabilitative stages in public health service:
- a volunteering medic,
- the best project in medical volunteering.
5. For contributions to preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage, for creating the cultural identity and atmosphere of openness and availability of cultural environment:
- the best project in cultural volunteering.
6. For protection from emergency situations, assistance to emergency services in prevention and elimination of emergency situations, promotion of safety lifestyle values among the population:
- search and rescue operations.

- the best project,
- young volunteer,
- silver volunteering.
The All-Russian competition "Russian Volunteer - 2016" will last until October 20.
The basic goal is to support the culture of volunteering in our country, as well as to develop the main directions of volunteering.
The winners of the contest will be awarded the Annual prize – the premium of "Russian Volunteer" in the all-Russian forum of volunteers.
