An interesting and useful "Garbage Quest" has been held within the Festival of Science.
In 2017, the Year of Ecology, the Department of Industrial and Applied Ecology of VyatSU Institute of Chemistry and Ecology is engaged in various activities on environmental education of the population. A "Garbage Quest" was organized by the Department within the Science Festival. It was attended by schoolchildren, students, preschool children, including babies with their parents and grandparents.
"Each of us is responsible for the cleanness of our planet" - these remarkable words became the slogan of the quest.
All quest participants had to complete three levels. On the first level they studied rules for sorting household waste, and then on the second level they were tested in a kind of a competition that was much fun and excitement.
The third final and most important level of the quest was supposed to be passed individually by each participant at his home, where he will sort the real garbage and spread it to special rubbish bins.
The importance of the quest is obvious, and the Department intends to continue this initiative by creating and distributing free videos on the separate collection of waste.
