The first chancellor Pyotr Zakcharovich Mosunov: foundation and broadening

Pyotr Zakcharovich Mosunov was the first chancellor of the institute, chemist, assistant professor.

The newly born institute included 4 colleges: electrophysical, electrotechnical, machinebuilding, construction-engineering, of general technology, and had 13 chairs. There were 3 forms of training and 14 specialties.

1289 students were applied to the institute in 1963-1964.

The institute was donated the building of sovnarhoz (building number 1 in the Theatre Square), and Kirov industrial enterprises supplied the teachers of the institute with apartments. The building of the students dormitory began in Lomonosov street.

Such traditions as initiating into students, “Student Spring”, professional holidays, sporting relay-races appeared at the time of Mosunov as a chancellor.

The last great work of Mosunov as a chancellor was the creating of the chemical (chemical-technological at that time) college.

Though Mosunov was a chancellor not for long, but he did much for foundation and broadening of the institute.

Pyotr Zakcharovich was awarded with the order of Red Banner of Labour, several medals and deeds of Ministry and local deeds of honour.
